As you look at the pics I caught of the loons yesterday chasing one another across the lake, keep in mind these birds winter in The Gulf of Mexico and will be heading to the Gulf in Novemeber.  What will they find when they get there and will they return next spring?  I sure hope so!

This last pic again shows the tag on the loons foot.

These are such beautiful birds and I can’t help but wonder what they will find when the get to the Gulf in November.  The Blue Herons and tons of other migratory birds also call the gulf their winter home.  The effects of the spill will be felt everywhere even in Northern Wisconsin if the loons do not return.  I can only hope they get things cleaned up and get the leak stopped before we loose more than we know

I dedicate this blog entry to the sea turtle I saw on TV last night, it was as beautiful as these loons but unlucky to get caught in the oil and died.
