Sigh…. I can so relate to your pictures, Jenny – I was up this past Wednesday to today, Sunday. Everything you pictured is exactly how it looks in Lake Tom (D and Heron Rd.), not far from you. Thursday night I drove to town after dinner at my parents and what a mistake. It was blizzarding so bad. My headlights were reflecting on the snowflakes just like fog, and I could only see literally about 20 feet in front of me. I had a hard time staying on the right side of Bluebird Rd. going home. I had to get gas for our car and the snowblower. When I got home I was backing down our driveway and I couldn’t see (my side mirror was caked in snow and I even had the driver’s window down) and backed crooked into the snowbank and almost got stuck. Thank goodness for AWD. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I got snow in the rims and the wheels were out of balance and I drove with a bad shimmy today all the way to Wausau. I went through a car wash at Kwik Trip across from Menards in Wausau to get the snow off and everything was fine the rest of the way. I couldn’t go above 55 before that because the SUV was shaking so bad. I thought about your picture last week when the snow was up to your waist. Our DirecTV dish on our roof peak has snow on it which interferes with the reception (not good for my sports channels!) I walked to the front of our home to inspect the dish. Not a good idea. I am 6′ 1″ and the snow was up to my thighs, almost my waist. In fact, I literally was concerned about making it back to the “relative” safety of our driveway which I had just snowblowed out. It was work. My folks are snow-raking their roof, and I am concerned about ours. I was assured by our sales rep that TLog meets or exceeds building code. This is nuts! 🙁
