The lake froze over 2 days ago.   I took this picture down between Red Pine and Bear Den.  Sub zero temps coming this next week and we will be making a lot more ice over the next week.  The way things are shaping up we will have some of the best winter playing conditions in a couple of years.  If you are looking at the Christmas week give a call we still have openings.  I am doing a special on Wigwam up to December 26th at 2 bdr rate for up to 4 people if you are looking at getting away for the Holidays.  We also have Wildflower open December 24th and 25, and Muskie, Holiday, Bear Den and Red Pine are open for the Christmas weekend.  December 26th through New Years call for openings

With the cold temps the guys have been looking for some inside projects.  Steve decided it was time for some sign maintenance and continued picking up projects and grabbed this old sign that has been hanging on the perch for a little TLC   This sign was made in the 80’s and was the last one to hang on our old white road gate before it moved to The Perch when the new totem pole gate was created

Jake has been home from college and been put to work helping Troy lay a new floor in Holiday.  Holiday is one of our last cabins with this old linoleum floor.  Time for an update

For the bird lovers out there, we had the biggest wood pecker in the area the Pileated Wood Pecker stop in at our feeder.  They are amazing to see swooping through the resort.  They are three or four times bigger than the Hairy and Downy Wood Peckers we see more of.  They are very sensitive to people and do no come close very often.  You can hear them drumming on trees more than you see them flying through the resort.  So a sighting like this is special when they come in for a close up
